The skies of blue
Turn to dark grey
When I’m not with you.
The only thing
To see, I pray,
Are your eyes, sparkling
As I did yesterday-
Though not today-
For the rest of ‘forever’.
This short poem is sponsored by Lauren’s Tears On The Train Home (you’ve. probably guessed… this is not a real spon, I’m just sad to be leaving Staffordshire).
How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.”
How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.”
This poem is short, spontaneous and written through tears. I’ve had the best long-weekend in the world and though I’m sad my girlfriend and I are back to long distance, it’s more than worth it now, for the sake of forever.
This poem was also inspired by something I witnessed, literally. When Becca and I got off the bus at Stoke-On-Trent station the sky was a beautiful mix of blue, pink an purple (which looked like the bisexual flag) but as my train left it was dark. Though I know that is surely controlled by a force called nature, it felt apt.
Love always,
This is so beautiful Lauren! ❤
